The IJLS Web Portal - Terms and Conditions
The terms and conditions (“Terms”) apply to the use of the Web Portal (the “Service”) made available by the Institute of Judicial and Legal Studies. These Terms constitute a contract between you and The Institute of Judicial and Legal Studies. Please read them carefully. These Terms may be altered or added to by us at any time, with or without notice. By using the services, you agree to be bound by the provisions of these Terms.
1. Terms
1.1. These Terms form part of the Web portal terms and conditions which govern your access to and usage of the web portal. By agreeing to comply with the Terms, you also agree to comply with the terms and conditions of use. If there is a conflict between The IJLS website terms and conditions of use and these Terms, these Terms shall prevail.
2. Grant of Rights
2.1. You may use the Web Portal for viewing the courses being delivered by the IJLS, provided that you do not:
- 2.1.1. In any way damage or disrupt the Service and/or the operation of the Service.
- 2.1.2. Use the Service for any unauthorised or unlawful purpose.
2.2. The IJLS reserves the right to suspend, amend, or cancel the Service at any time, either temporarily or permanently.
3. Privacy and Use of Information
- 3.1. The IJLS will comply with the Data Protection Act in relation to any applicable information you supply to Us.
- 3.2. Any personal information supplied by You may be retained by the IJLS until such time as you request that the information be removed.
- 3.3. We will use any information you give to Us and which identifies you only for the purpose for which it is supplied to Us, including contacting you to verify your credit card information. We will not use it for any other purpose or supply it to any third party except as required by law, authorized by You, or set out in these Terms.
4. Governing Law
- (1) This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Mauritius. The parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mauritius.
- (2) Recognising the global nature of the Internet, the User agrees to comply with all local rules regarding online conduct, acceptable content, and use of the Websites and the Services.
5. General
- (1) The Registered User shall not, in any litigation proceeding, challenge the admissibility as evidence or the accuracy of a data log or electronic record provided by The IJLS in whatever form it may be presented.
- (2) Nothing in this Agreement shall constitute or be deemed to constitute a partnership between The IJLS and any User, nor constitute the appointment of third parties as an agent of any User or The IJLS.
- (3) If any terms and conditions are held to be invalid, unenforceable, or illegal for any reason, the remaining terms and conditions will nevertheless continue in full force.
- (4) The User shall be deemed to have read this Agreement and shall agree to be bound by the terms hereof. This Agreement shall supersede all proposals, prior agreements, oral or written, and all other communications between the parties relating to the subject matter of this Agreement.
6. Agreement to Terms
BY USING THE IJLS WEB PORTAL, YOU ARE AGREEING TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, INCLUDING ANY UPDATED CHANGES IN TERMS AND CONDITIONS FROM TIME TO TIME THROUGH OUR WEBSITE.
