Yes, you can do so through the Accreditation process.

Law related courses or courses relevant to the practice of the law practitioner are eligible for accreditation.

This decision lies with the Accreditation Committee of the IJLS which is chaired by Hon. Mrs Sulakshna Beekarry-Sunassee. The other members are representatives from the Mauritius Bar Council, the Mauritius Law Society and the Chambre des Notaires.

A maximum of 6 accredited hours can be earned per CPD year.

You should download the Application form from the IJLS website in the icon “Accreditation”. The following documents need to be submitted: Application for Accreditation Form duly filled in; Official programme; List of topics; List of interveners/trainers together with a short bio and the certificate of attendance.

Accreditation is based on law-related topics and other subjects that enhance the skills and competencies of legal practitioners.

The applicant must note that the number of CPD hours advertised by other organising bodies may not accurately reflect the final CPD hours which may be granted by the Accreditation Committee.

It is only the Accreditation Committee of the IJLS which is mandated to decide the number of CPD hours to be accredited to a particular Applicant for accreditation, based on substantive information of the relevant course provided by the applicant at the time of application for accreditation.

The application should be made in the relevant CPD year, the deadline being the 2nd September of the CPD year.
